- Only those candidates who have qualified for the MCQ Based Preliminary Test (MPT) will be able to appear in the written part of CSS-2023.
- The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least a Second Division.

CSS Written Exam Total Papers (Compulsory & Optional)
- Candidates must get a minimum of 40% marks in compulsory subjects to be considered qualified in CSS written exams.
- A minimum of 33% marks in optional subjects is required to be considered as a qualified candidate.
- The aggregate marks required to qualify for CSS written exams are 50%.
- Candidates who score less than these criteria will not be allowed to proceed to the next exam.
- If a candidate qualifies in the written test, they will be eligible for medical examination, psychological assessment, and viva.
Rules For CSS Written Test
- In case of selecting the wrong optional subjects, the application will be rejected and the candidate will be asked to re-evaluate and make a new selection.
- Two optional subjects must be selected from the same group before the closing date, and no changes will be allowed after that.
- Failure to appear in any compulsory or optional subject due to medical or other reasons will result in disqualification from the remaining exams.
- A candidate can attempt the competitive exams for a maximum of three times.
- If a candidate arrives late to the examination hall, no extra time will be provided as per the rules.
